SNOW day

Living in MN, we shouldn't be too surprised to see snowflakes falling in December...but we apparently had some catching up to do from last year's less than snow filled winter.  Late Saturday evening, the snow started to fall - and it didn't stop until sometime Sunday evening - the Twin Cities got somewhere between 15-18" of snow!  Since the roads weren't the best to brave, we took advantage on Sunday and had our first official 'snow day' with Adilyn.  Last year she was just learning to walk and the snow wasn't as abundant - so it was REALLY fun to see her reaction to this white stuff covering every surface!
She loved it!!

But first - can't forget trimming the tree (I set up the tree and strung the lights before anyone else got home) -but Adi helped with the finishing touches.  She's now become aware of some of the wrapped boxes sitting underneath the tree - so I'm thinking she will enjoy that part of the Holiday this year too!

enjoying a Holiday treat!

oh and some Christmas card 'outtakes' - Adi is in her "cheesy" smile phase...hard to find one without it!
then we were getting restless...
always time for a quick snuggle with Daddy
ok - I think this means we're done!
snow started falling...

checking things out

Cade just happened to be stalking something in the neighbor's yard...
this was about 3 seconds later - notice, no dog.
going down the hill with Daddy!

throwing snow for Cade to catch
even Mom took a shot at the sled!
walking the fine line of fear and joy!

oh and this is what happens when you don't upload pictures from both cameras frequently enough - a couple of pics of Adi's swimming lesson experience with Daddy

well I can't guarantee we will have frequent updates leading up to Christmas - but wishing you and yours a wonderful Holiday season!

summ-fall-idays

OOps - so I finally went to upload pictures from my camera last night and realized the last date of dumping pictures was sometime around the end of August.  Well, what can I say? We are busy - with life! :)
Anyway - to be fair to those of you who actually still check this blog, I wanted to post a photo update for your viewing pleasure!  Now that Thanksgiving is upon us (THIS WEEK), and Christmas right around the corner, I'm predicting that you'll either see a LOT more updates or VERY few! No promises either way at this point.   I do hope that you all are planning time to enjoy your family and friends over the Holidays!

Ok, here we go - a few months back in review:

all the way back to Memorial Day - grill out with great friends and Adi got to go for a ride (or a few) with her taller, older friend Charlie (who can reach the pedal)
We also celebrated Dan's 29th Birthday Sept. 25 with a date night and overnight hotel stay downtown - Grandma graciously watched Adi overnight!
"umm. I'm trying to watch some Saturday morning 'toons, Mom!"
SO Big - playing on the slide in the 'crisper' weather

always busy!
lately Mom and Dad have been working at home too much - but I like to help!
playing in the leaves before clean-up day
isn't Daddy silly?

Halloween - Adilyn the Fairy did NOT want her picture taken...
as hard as Mommy tried...
heading to our friends' house for the first stop - I knocked, but didn't say much of anything at any of the houses we visited..
but I sure like this candy stuff!
cutest little fairy I've seen!
I was fortunate enough to help host a shower in early November to celebrate Baby Powers for my sister in law Jenn (on the right)!  Boy or Girl - we will find in a few short weeks!
obviously the majority think it's going to be a baby boy...
Guest of Honor with the hostesses (and Adi didn't want to be in a picture)

and welcome to the 6th Annual DUPI Thanksgiving - I had such good intentions of taking pictures, but with 19 adults & 11 little ones, you can understand that things got a little chaotic!
thank you to Justin and Mary for hosting this year's wonderful event - carrying on the tradition!
the boys discussing the highlights of their football game...
go long, Adi!
...not quite sure what to do with this thing
Wishing you all a VERY Happy Thanksgiving!
