and I mean that in a very good way. I could try to explain why I'm so far behind on our blog updates, but let's just say we've been busy...and are on our way to getting busier - with Memorial Day weekend only hours away from commencing, summer weather teasing us by day, and many events on the docket. So, here's a quick 'browse-by' of our life as of late.
NEW YORK CITY: D+L's 5 Year Wedding Anniversary Celebration
our momentary home sweet home - the Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Ave. Midtown Manhattan, NYCGrand Central Station - entrance right across the street from our Hotel making it very easy to get around
apparently I'm terrible at snapping a pic of us together (you'll see more later) - hard to hold that camera
so Dan helped me out to get a better view of the place - hustle and bustle!
doing some light reading outside the NYC Public Library
::cue theme to 30 Rock::
Rockefeller Center Plaza
randomly got stopped inside the NBC Experience Store - 2 hours later, we were watching Jimmy Fallon rehearse his monologue!
view from the Top of the Rock - Central Park
got this one right at least!
looking at the Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock
DP did not want to play along with my photo shoot requests...
walking along "The Mall" in Central Park
Bethesda Fountain - Central Park
Loeb Boathouse - Central Park
then we took a field trip to Wall Street - to visit one of Dan's financial contacts and watch some trades happen live!
the iconic Wall Street Bull
viewing Lady Liberty from Battery Park
my turn
progress of the Freedom Tower
view from the UN building looking toward the Chrysler Building
then we wandered to Tribeca, NYC - stopped in to Robert De Niro’s bar for an afternoon drink (Locanda Verde)
did some shopping with Kim K. and then waited with the press/paparazzi for her to come out
the NFL Draft was also happening just down the street from our hotel - at Radio City
The Empire State Building
every girl's dream wedding venue- the Plaza
The Plaza in all its splendor
Central Park Zoo
Times Square
a "real NY slice"
Bubby's - Tribeca: amazing brunch spot!
our Anniversary dinner at The National, home of Iron Chef Zakarian
MEANWHILE: back at the 'ranch' - otherwise known as life for the Powers fam...
our little 'monkey' is growing like a weed and loving her bananas!
still not sure how she manages to eat roughly 1/18 of her body weight in one sitting :)
captivated by pictures of herself :)
HAPPY Mother's Day!
I feel beyond blessed to be your Mother, Adilyn! You are an absolute joy and I can't even begin to describe how that fills my heart! Someday you'll understand what it means to love someone this greatly and I hope you are reminded of how much more your Heavenly Father loves you!
Grandma Powers with her boys
take 2...or so :)
the gift Adilyn made literally by hand for me - those are her little fingerprints (caterpillar, ladybug, and flowers)
Back to the Basics:
always on the move!
Dad said "everyone needs one of these"
Grandpa Dale came to visit - time to play!
time to snuggle and play!
hugs all around
waving hello with Grandpa & Auntie Lola - after our dance party!!
