Anyway - that being said, I do intend to put just as much love into these posts as I did the first time around! This time it will be filled with even more adventure and excitement since it's now about our family of 4 instead of just 3!
Ok Claire bear (notice her nickname is came on fast and hasn't gone anywhere yet)!
The one month marker has come and gone - and while I'm proud that I did get a picture to document on the date, I do want to add some detail too.
At One Month here are Claire's stats:
Height: 22"
Weight: 9 lbs 4.5oz
Personality: cuddly, a little feisty, but mostly content
So what's been happening lately? We've been adjusting (yes, still) to becoming a family of 4 - for those of you with more, I applaud you - for ever leaving your house; being showered and dressed; eating meals; going to the bathroom; and especially for doing anything socially! ok - maybe that's extreme, and I admit I am coming out of the 'newborn fog' and feeling much more up to doing things - but some thing still scare me, like a run to Target with both girls -- what if one starts crying uncontrollably and I have a full cart? Or even worse, what if Claire is crying and Adi throws a tantrum, in public?! I don't know if I'm humble enough to handle that yet.
Anyway - despite the above vent, I am truly thrilled to have two beautiful, lively, strong willed little girls.
As for what we have been busy with - visitors (LOVE it), our Church and some great friends and family provided us with a multitude of meals to get us through those initial weeks. This is honestly the first week I had to go full grocery shopping and plan meals - so THANK YOU to all of you that contributed to the cause!
We have attended Church a couple of times as a family as well which has been great. We've run some errands and made a trip or two to the mall. Dan and Adi have spent as much time as they (mostly Dan and Cade) can stand - while Adi doesn't seem to be phased by the cold at all when it comes to playtime! They've built some serious forts with all of the snow as well as a pretty substantial snowman. We are all VERY eagerly awaiting the true arrival of spring so we can get outdoors and enjoy the weather!
waiting for Daddy to get home so they can play outside
'hat on' - just in case Daddy walks through the door, she's always ready to get outside
digging tunnels in the yard - one of Dan's favorite childhood memories
inside the 'cave'
meet our snowman - who Dan and Cade later be-headed...
Dan also found some time to demo our upstairs bathroom - and the tile guy is actually here as I type starting the install!! Hooray - our last major project for this house - 6 years in the making!
Claire was sleeping about 2-3 hours through the night and we even had a couple of 4 hour stretches scattered in there. However, lately she's been having a few 'fussy' times in the evenings where she'll seem like she wants to eat - but mostly will just cry until she falls asleep. We didn't experience this with Adi so it definitely feels foreign and frustrating - but overall she's a very content baby. We are also thankful for Big Sister's eagerness to help whenever Claire is upset. Adilyn is very impacted by the sound of her sister's cry - even if Mom, Dad, or Nana have her in their arms - she does not like when 'baby crying'.
Oh - one other minor event, I was hit with the flu - like slam into a wall and get knocked down for a few days. SO - Dan ended up giving Claire her first bottle (basically out of necessity) on Friday night the 22nd while I was passed out on the couch. I honestly didn't fully recover until yesterday when I ate my first complete meal following the illness. I am SO thankful for my health now and even more thankful for an amazing husband and family to help in times of need.
ok - now for the pictures, what you really come here for. Forgive the randomness - but consider yourself caught up.
documenting Claire's clear love for FOOD
bright eyed and bushy tailed
love looking down at this face
someone found her thumb - Adi must've given her a hint :)
oh yes - and we are double stroller people now - haven't been able to use it yet, but am looking forward to a lot of walks! THANK YOU Great Grandpa + Grandma Huddleston!
We also got our professional pictures back from Claire's newborn sesh - they are AMAZING! Huge thank you to Kelley Conley Reiter! I highly reco her if you are looking! Here are a few peeks:

we hope you are doing well - and would love to visit with you soon! until next time, we are dreaming of warm weather and sunny walks...
